Trust says farewell to Malcolm after 31 years

July 6th 2021

Shetland Recreational Trust staff met on Wednesday 30th June at Unst Leisure Centre to say farewell to a member of its staff after more than three decades of service.

Malcolm Spence is one of the longest serving employees within the Trust, having joined in August 1990.

Malcolm has been a regular fixture in the Northern Isles as a handyman and grounds keeper for both Unst and Yell Leisure Centre and was a regular visitor to other SRT sites where he undertook monthly water testing. Malcolm will be a huge miss after his retirement this year.

Malcolm is pictured here with Andrew Lyall (Head of Assets) who thanked him for all his years of service and presented him with a gift on behalf of the Trust.
