Training Vacancies - Employed Trainee

Job Location: Clickimin Leisure Complex, South Mainland Pool
Rate of Pay: 16-17 years £155.40 per week | 18-20 years £218.30 per week | Year 2 if aged or over £273.06 per week
Hours of Work: Average 37 hours per week (involving some evening and weekend work)

Overall Job Purpose:

A Modern Apprenticeship with us offers individuals aged 16 to 19 years of age paid employment combined with training to gain valuable, practical knowledge and skills for the provision of sport and leisure on a two year temporary contract.

The successful candidate will be:

  • able to communicate politely and clearly
  • enthusiastic and willing to provide a good service to customers and colleagues
  • committed to completing the training
  • able to set up and move sports equipment
  • *competent swimmer, capable of achieving the NPLQ within 3 months of the course starting date (training will be provided).

*A swim test must be completed prior to Interview.

Job Details

Technical Services Manager

Job Location: Shetland Recreational Trust
Rate of Pay: £35,139 - £39,323 per annum including Island Allowance
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week

Post: Technical Services Manager

The Shetland Recreational Trust owns and operates eight leisure facilities throughout Shetland employing some 240 staff.  An exciting key management opportunity has arisen within the Trust.

Reporting directly to the Head of Assets and Business Support the post holder will be responsible for the management of the Trusts Technical Services Department.

You will be responsible for the planned and preventative maintenance of all SRT Facilities.  The range of work will include; plant and building fabric maintenance, monitoring and improving energy efficiency, health and safety, fire risk assessments and environmental compliance.

The ideal candidate should possess significant experience of undertaking construction projects and have experience in dealing with all aspects of building manintenance.

You should also be passionate about promoting a positive and health, safety and environmental culture across the Trust, in line with our Vision to "Improve lives through sport and recreational activity".

You will have:

  • HNC/HND level qualification in Management, Facilities Management or similar.
  • Relevant managerial experience.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.

Hours of work will be 37 hours per week including some evening and weekend working.
