Mr Leask is the Chief Executive Officer at Hjaltland Housing Association. He is the current team manager and secretary for Shetland Rugby Club and was formerly a non-executive director of Shetland Leasing and Property Developments (SLAP) Ltd.
Mr Martin is a chartered civil engineer and is manager of Shetland Heat Energy and Power which runs the Lerwick District Heating Scheme. He has been involved with numerous community organisations in the South Mainland and is a keen volleyball player.
Former editor of The Shetland Times and senior assistant editor of The Scotsman, Paul Riddell now runs his own communications company which has clients in Shetland and across Scotland. A football enthusiast, he is secretary of Lerwick Thistle Football Club and believes participation in sport is hugely beneficial both to individuals and to the community.
Mr Keith is employed by BP as an Area Authority at Sullom Voe. He is Treasurer of Aith Badminton Club and has always had a passion for badminton. He has represented Shetland against Orkney many times, participated in 6 NatWest Island Games and also represented Scotland at international veteran’s level.
Mrs Phillips is employed by Shetland Islands Council as a primary school teacher. She has a keen and active interest in sport and fitness.
Mr Williamson has been managing director of GTS Direct Ltd since it was formed in 2009. Prior to that he ran MES Business Equipment Ltd for many years.
Mrs Leask is a registered childminder. She maintains a keen interest in badminton, playing at county level herself as well as coaching St Clements juniors and the development squad. She also organises tournaments for Shetland Badminton Association in her role as Tournament Secretary.
Mr Thomson is a quantity surveyor specialising in energy projects. He is a director of Shetland Aerogenerators Ltd and a project manager with Viking Energy Shetland LLP. After playing several sports David now coaches and helps run local clubs including Lerwick Spurs FC and Lerwick Amateur Swimming Club.
Mr Summers is currently employed by Shetland Islands Council as a steward at Islesburgh Complex, having previously worked for a total of 12 years at both Scalloway Pool and Clickimin Leisure Complex. He has a keen interest in a variety of sports and serves as secretary of the Up Helly Aa Committee.
